I agree that we get lost in the sexy details of the Energy Transition and forget that, even when we decarbonize, we won't have solved the underlying problem.

A Human Behavioural Crisis Threatens Humanity

The climate crisis should shift from technological solutions to human behavior.

@tomwebler There are many other problems, but if we don't stop global warming through the energy transition, we have no hope of solving them. The energy transition is not optional, and cannot wait until we have learned how to change human behavior.
@chrisnelder I'm on board with the energy transition, Chris! Just saying, once we decarbonize, the real challenge still lies ahead. We are consuming several times over what Earth can provide.
@tomwebler I am WELL aware of all of that. But I'm also strongly opposed to any argument that goes "too much emphasis is placed on...the transition to renewable energy...
Instead, attention should focus on maladaptive human behaviors" NO. That is wrong.The transition must be done, full stop. Which is why we published Ep. 211: https://xenetwork.org/ets/episodes/episode-211-doomers-vs-transitionistas/
[Episode #211] – Doomers vs. Transitionistas | The Energy Transition Show

Why do some people believe we should accelerate the energy transition, while others claim that it will never work and advocate for things like degrowth policies instead?

The Energy Transition Show
@chrisnelder I agree. I loved that episode.
