@fcloth because designers are inconsistent and create arbitrary design rules that claim to be consistent but aren’t. They create rules that box everyone into a corner including themselves. Everyone must abide by these rules until they decide it’s okay to break them. Oh, but only them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@fcloth @marioguzman You didn’t ask me and I don’t know where these come from, but were I to guess at everything, I’d say the use of parallax on face of the timepiece can lead to reading the time inaccurately. While the buttons are less easy to read, they don’t change and so once they would be learned they would remain familiar.
