Inspired by @metin, I want to get back into 3D art. So, I want to share my first creation from 2023, both created and rendered in #MagicaCSG
@metin I'd like to continue with this magic library, which was inspired by some 3D art I saw on the 🐦 site. However, this scene consists of 500 unique objects. Although #MagicaCSG can easily handle that, I'm not sure if I can 😅
@metin Another project I'd like to finish is this stone hands portal scene. While detailing the stones is tedious but doable, I have yet to get a satisfying glow effect in #MagicaCSG. Any tips? 👀

@daniel Intriguing, poetic scene. 👍

The renderer in #MagicaCSG doesn't have a glow post-processing effect. You'd need to add that in an image editor after saving the rendering.

Also, MagicaCSG's Emission value seems more or less comparable with self-illumination in other renderers: more like the glowy light of a TV set than a focused light source.

@metin I thought so... 😖 I will see what I can do with image editing. But I will also see if I can create the illusion in pure MagicaCSG. The challenge of limitations is what motivates me!

This is an example where I managed to create a cloud/fog by playing with opacity and other material properties. As you said, it's all about trial and error 🙂

@daniel 👍

The latest MagicCSG versions include volumetric rendering, so you can easily create fog now.

@metin Something that taught me to be creative was a tool called #Flowscape. You could use it to create small 3D dioramas. But with some clever tricks you could also create other interesting styles like this shadow art: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ne4jJUfoP-E
