Cue the usual, ignorant, pearl-clutching "OMG... it's not a recall" takes... and completely ignore that Tesla couldn't be arsed to RTFM and get it right to begin with.

These requirements are LITERALLY SPELLED OUT for manufacturers - but I digress... rules shouldn't apply to Tesla.

Apparently enforcing federal motor vehicle safety standards is "dumb".

It's not the manufacturer who couldn't follow & ensure compliance with well-documented standards that's "dumb"... it's the wagging finger of the regulator that is singled out.
