i don’t usually comment publicly on moderation topics, but will note that a way to help ensure treehouse does not limit your instance is to have a policy explicitly prohibiting passive harassment (so-called reply guy behavior).

our main moderation philosophy is one of “quiet enjoyment,” so if we see a lot of posts from an instance which are not aligned with this philosophy, we will limit that instance, even if it is a “tech instance” (especially really).

(i am sure some troll over at .art will point at this post as some kind of proof of something, but no, Ro chose to become a public figure and simple criticism of the behavior of public figures is not harassment)

anyway, if you do run such an instance and you would like us to reconsider, change your code of conduct to forbid passive harassment, and let us know, we will certainly think about it.

but we won’t think about it without that commitment.

@ariadne Can you tell me if techhub.social is limited or is likely limited by a lot of others? I suppose if you've limited it you won't see this (?), but thought I'd try. I have almost never interacted with another account on here and have no clue what the fedi's general perception of it is. If it's bad I'd like to move to a new fedi home that has more to offer.
