complaining about twitter on twitter while continuing to provide content for twitter does nothing but support twitter

i don't care where the hell you go (or even if you don't go anywhere and just disappear into the woods), i am telling - no, begging - you to get the hell off of there

@esm I'm trying, that's why all my recent videos have been about how to explore fediverse software and servers. I might be a small fish but we all have to send the message in any way we can. A few are bound to listen.

@esm as much as it sucks nobody is going to go off twitter unless the same community they've gathered over there moves somewhere else - and "nobody i know there is there so i won't go there" is an endless cycle

not a lot of people are going to ditch their community of connections, no matter what happens, especially if that's one of the only places they have

@esm ive been saying that for well over a year now, but if anything ive seen more people coming back to twitter than people leaving. why? who knows!

@esm I think the only reason people don't want to leave Twitter is because their friends don't want to leave, and then it kinda starts a chain reaction.
It was a bit difficult to move onto new platforms, but I'm so glad I took that chance.
I realize now just how many hours Twitter sucked out of my life. It's really nice to not be encouraged to keep scrolling all day, and I think having a smaller audience helped me to value my artwork beyond just "how many likes it gets."
I really hope that as time goes on, more and more people will follow suit in leaving Twitter
