@joninalbany I was a big Howard Dean supporter, made calls and contributed money. It wasn't the scream that killed his campaign. He had just come in third in Iowa. He campaigned against the Iraq war and Saddam had just been captured; he raised a lot of money but it was all spent on really poor ads (which pissed me off, that was my money and money I talked people into giving), he was almost out of funds going into New Hampshire. The media kept replaying the scream. He was shouting to be heard over a raucous crowd, but what you heard on TV was recorded with a noise cancelling microphone. That didn't help him but he was already on the way down.
