Just watched Revolution. Here are some thoughts. :) Ok let's get a big thing out of the way first. They did something I have always hated. Keldor. So now in this universe, Skeletor used to be Keldor, undoing the 'demon from another dimension' this version was stated to have been. Fine. It's

done. But damn, they reeeeally rub it in too. Especially by the end. I had seen leaks of the secretive fourth figure of the upcoming Masterverse wave so I knew Keldor was gonna be in it. But I'd hoped the only way he'd be Skeletor was if by Skeletor possessing him and using his body to regain organic form after being Skeletek. But nope. It's full on Keldor. Ok. And to make it more annoying to me. Keldor is voiced by William Shatner. A man who
has attacked many autistic people online over the past few years while being spokesperson for the godawful 'Autism Speaks', a 'charity' that has abused autistic people for years and claimed autism was a 'disease' to be 'cured' and even has a guide book for parents that, upon their child being diagnosed as autistic, encourages them to GRIEVE for the 'loss' of their 'non-autistic child' as if the child was killed and replaced by some kind of fake.
Shatner's online abuse of the autistic community and his bullying and targeting of specific autistic people who try to call out the issues with Autism Speaks has been absolutely horrible. But nobody outside of the autistic community really seems to give a damn because eh, why would they? Let's put that aside for now. Shatner actually performed the role well. And I'm gonna just have to get used to the fact this Skeletor was Adam's dodgy uncle
after all. And if I accept that then yeah this was a lot of fun overall. Am I going to buy the King Keldor figure? Nnngh... Probably... And this show just retconned my FOUR other Revelation/Revolution Skeletor figures as Keldors. Ugh. Fine. Let's go on to the positives. Despite the Keldor thing, I really enjoyed the overall story of Adam having to decide whether to be King or He-Man and in the end he abolished the monarchy (something I
wouldn't be upset if happened here in the UK for various reasons). It was also cool to see Teela off on her own quest to restore Preternia. Her voice actor has changed from Sarah Michelle Gellar (who did a fine job in Revelation) to Supergirl Melissa Benoist (real life wife of Chris Wood who plays Adam/He-Man) and it works really well. More banter with Teela and Lyn (the returning Lena Headey) was fun and their interactions with wise old dragon
Granamyr (played superbly by Star Trek TNG's Q, John De Lancie) was great too. Duncan and Orko went to visit Gwildor (voiced so on point by @animateted it was like 1987's actor, Billy Barty, back to life for one more outing as the cranky inventor). Orko and Gwildor's banter was fun (especially as the 1987 movie created Gwildor because Orko just wasn't feasible with their budget and the special effects of that era) and makes sense why their action
figures were a double pack (one I'm very glad to own). The various sub-plots all came together well at the end and loved Adam and Teela's relationship finally progress to the next level (not like that, that's for off-screen :P ) I liked Keith David as Hordak a lot. Always loved his voice in things such as Gargoyles. And Meg Foster's voice fit Motherboard perfectly. They worked really well with Mark Hamill's Skeletor/Skeletek. Zodac! And
others of his kind. And he's played by Jeffrey Combs! The Re-Animator, the Question and so many other awesome cult classic roles. Lyn's gonna be a cosmic enforcer? Interesting. Like Revelation, Revolution did the emotional aspect really well in my opinion. I felt the sadness of Adam and Marlena (now voiced beautifully by Star Trek TNG's Gates McFadden) over Randor's passing, even though in this universe the souls of the deceased go to the
heaven-like, Preternia (once Teela fixed it) I still felt that sense of loss since they will be separated. It was great to see that once Preternia was restored, we saw Fisto and Clamp Champ finally make their way there and Moss Man, King Grayskull and the others returned there too. Sorceress (loved having Susan Eisenberg back) got to ascend there too. Thankfully Orko wasn't dragged back there. Love the lil scamp and Griffin Newman portrays him so
well. Despara being revealed at the end (as that identity, not whoever is under the mask) was kinda spoiled by the cover of a new Revolution comic but cool to see her show up. And there was a glimpse of Hordak possibly stealing a child from the family (and I guess he had wiped their minds somehow like he'd wiped Skeletor's) so Adora/She-Ra in this universe could still be a possibility if her license rights are ever sorted. Some nice easter
eggs again such as some of the designs of those old robot machines (recognised the Monstroid). And after Revelation had almost every vehicle but the iconic Wind Raider it was great to see the Raider in use this time. The visuals by Powerhouse were of course gorgeous. I'm not a fan of the look of CGI cartoons so still very happy they went largely traditional 2D (with CGI assistance for certain things) and the lines and colours really pop nicely
on my big TV. The action shots were great, especially in the epic final battles. The look of Castle Grayskull after being taken by the Horde was pretty cool too. The music by Bear McCreary is fantastic as ever. The main theme motif has become popular with a lot of MotU fans the past couple years and used on many social media posts of the figures even when the figure in the post wasn't a Revelation one. The Filmation theme is of course a
timeless classic but since that can't be used here, Bear's music has been a more than worthy substitute. I really hope we get a third season. Even if just five episodes like this one (it felt like a feature length animated movie watching them in five episode chunks anyways which I like). Please Netflix. I literally just got me a sub today to watch it. The £4.99 one. Said there would be ads. But there weren't any (if my browser's ad-blocker
blocked them then I apologise). I want more of this MotU universe! The mini-series comics have been fun but I'd love to see more from Powerhouse of course. :) Action figure potential. Lots. And that's even just of new versions of Skeletor (and Skele-Titan as the credits say for one form), He-Man and MANY versions of Teela including the 'Green Goddess' (also in my post about Sorceress Teela figure I complained she came with a copy of her
mother's staff and didn't have her own staff from the Art book, well she does indeed use her mother's staff here and turns out it's one of three required to bring back Pre-Eternia so ok). Lyn had a nice new outfit too. Hordak looked great (had several outfits). There's also Rio Blast, Buzz-Off, Snout Spout. Duncan as Man-of-War. Still haven't yet had Andra in her Man-At-Arms gear. And while not usually a fan of dragons, I would love Granamyr in
figure form but unless it's a costly Mattel Creations exclusive I feel it would be far too large to be in the regular retail Masterverse line.
