@jni thank you for letting me know. i really want to retain this username but i'm not sure if that's possible. renaming accounts appears not to be supported (https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/984#issuecomment-423290993). @mawhrin do you have any ideas for how to address this?

@mawhrin i've tried cancelling the redirect from treehouse -> circumstances and asking people to refollow: https://circumstances.run/@hipsterelectron/111814729379833810

if that fails (as i suspect it will), i may simply request from you the creation of a new account @cosmicexplorer and use that from now on, since "hipsterelectron" was a mistake anyway
