I’d argue Threads isn’t a particularly well-made movie, but is the most objective & realistic depiction of nuclear holocaust
Peter Watkins is better in terms of narrative structure though every second of Threads is genius though if War-games was double the length it could probably approach Threads.
It is, in my opinion, one of the best depictions of what it was like in the 80s when we were growing up with a constant awareness of the possibility of a nuclear attack. It was really weird how normalized that whole idea became, and then how it all just changed.
And I’m saying that as someone who was in the industry.
