Astonishing. My first reaction to that was to think it was an excellent macro photo of cudweed then I looked at the base of the stem. Which lichen is this one?

@Stevenheywood This was captured with my phone camera, it's somewhere between 2x and 3x lifesize. I've been amazed by the weird alien shapes of lichen I've found around the yard. Just started taking pictures of it when the garden stopped blooming. Still don't know much about the lifecycle or names of different types of lichen. Discovered the name goldeneye by accident.
