Tonight, while watching Aliens for the first time in a decade, I realized that its score is incredibly similar to Star Trek II: Wrath of Kahn. So that’s how I learned about James Horner, how little time he had to score Aliens, and how much meddling he had to deal with from Cameron.
@jasonarust I watched Aliens last weekend. Bill Paxton still kills me in the role he played.

@mattsledge Game over, man! Game over!

Every time I see him in something I think about how he played Chet in Weird Science and Hudson, then had roles in Apollo 13, Twister, and eventually Agents of SHIELD. It’s hard to believe it’s been like 5 years since he passed. 😞

@jasonarust You forgot Titanic. It's okay, we all do.

@mattsledge
And Tombstone too! I just watched it two weeks ago. How did I leave that out?

That said, I will never forget Titanic. Well, at least Kate Winslet in Titanic. The best I can recall about the rest of it was that it was long and overly melodramatic and… something about a door being big enough for two people?

@jasonarust And THE TERMINATOR. Holy hell, man!

@mattsledge Damn, I don’t remember him being in the Terminator at all! Guess I’m going to have to rewatch that next.

Seriously, though, how many movies did he and Michael Biehn do together?

@jasonarust He's one of the punks in the beginning when the Terminator goes back to 1984. Can't miss him at all.

And they’ve been in quite a few together, thanks to Cameron.
