"5 years field experience required" is bullshit. I have a decent brain and the wealth of all the knowledge of the internet at the tips of my fingers. So what if before this job I'd never serviced a chainsaw or rebuilt a pump truck? I've never fucked a bologna sandwich before this moment either but I'd put money down that I'd pick it up just fine if and when I set my mind to it and someone passes me the mayonnaise.
