If we took Japan's lead, what would city manhole covers have as decoration?

@knizer @colossal IronCovers captures a lot of great ones, but I think this frog and fly one is my local favorite.

If Somerville did it, would have the Powder House and the Grand Union flag on it, probably.

My froggy friends and a very unfortunate fly. Had been to this park hundreds of times before I noticed it and made it famous. #Cambridge MA. Thanks to sculptor David Phillips for this beauty. He made the frog sculptures in the #Boston #FrogPond too.

@mem_somerville ya, my thinking as well, Powder House, that or Prospect Hill.

Marshmallow fluff would be too advertising-y, Whitey Bulger too crime-y, and MOBA likely to be ephemeral. 🙃 #Somerville

@knizer @mem_somerville Well other easy ones:
-Seven hills: Spring Hill, Winter Hill, etc.
-Brickbottom (and neighborhoods)
-Cows
-Streetcar
-Paul Revere's ride... A little of stretch.

More commercial:
-Ford / Assembly Row
-John P. Squire Company
-Charles North’s Packing & Provision Company
-New England Dressed Meat and Wool Company
-Steve's Ice Cream
-Bertucci's
