Since 2024 has run for almost a month now maybe it's time for a best albums of 2023.
I'll post them in release order because I hate ranking things...
Starting out we have Kamara by Mgzavrebi, released on 2nd of February:

This was my most listened album last year (discounting the combined plays of Eurovision songs) and it kickstarted my deep dive into music from Georgia. It's a wonderful folk rock album with strong trumpets 🙂
I'm back with the next album from my list of top albums from last year.
This time it's Paper Crown by @lenoybarkai released on the 10th of February. It is a lovely indie-pop/rock album with some wonderful uses of cello in some of the songs. It is definitely not the showiest album on my list but is one I'm bery likely to come back to at a later date because of the great lyrics, melodies and production.
The next album on my top list from last year is hortelĂŁ by Maro
Maro came to my attention when she represented Portugal in Eurovision 2022, an entry I really loved. This is her 7th album, her 6th album called Can You See Me? was one of my absolute favourite albums of 2022 so she's got a strong streak going there 🙂
Continuing on from yesterday's wonderful Portuguese album today we have Zu wahr um schon zu sein by Culcha Candela.
Culcha Candela is a dancehall, hip hop, house and reggae group from Berlin, Germany formed in 2002. Their lyrics range from political issues, such as "Una Cosa" or "Schöne, neue Welt" to party songs, such as "Partybus". The name Culcha Candela can be translated into English roughly as "hot" or "bright" culture.
