Sometimes I still pick up my late-2018 iPad Pro and think, "I'm holding the future in my hands and it's magical."
What I really want is a 13-inch non-Pro iPad because I don't need to spend $1300 on a glorified e-reader/YouTube machine this year.
@aleen I have money set aside for an iPad Air this spring and the possibility of a 13” Air has me going back and forth between what size to get

@alexpadilla I've had a 13" iPad Pro almost always since they were introduced. I got a 10.5" one year and regretted everything for a year until
I went back to the 13".

(I know it's technically 12.9" but that always feels like splitting hairs.)

@aleen I’ve been a little concerned about the 13” being too big for couch use but I just looked up the dimensions of the 13” pro and it’s almost exactly the size of a sheet of paper—good physical context to keep in my head in case the 13” air fits in my budget (or if I want to stretch the budget to accommodate 😬)
@alexpadilla I use a Magic Keyboard and rolling table for mine. It's definitely too much for me to hold up for hours on end.
@aleen thanks for chatting with an internet stranger about iPad sizes, it’s given me a bit to think about :)
@aleen Boy do I feel that. I use my iPad a heap, but it’s mostly RSS/Articles/Manga/Graphic Novels, and some games etc. It’s great, but being in AU the prices are eye watering. My 2020 base 12” Pro and Magic Keyboard were about $1800 and $500 respectively. That hurts. I’m not in a rush to upgrade, but it would be real nice if I didn’t have to spend the cost of a decent laptop when I want to do so.
@wyldphyre yes! I use my mini a ton when I'm out and about, but both iPads are pretty much only for reading, annotating knitting patterns, and watching Korean bakeries make food in YouTube.
@aleen That's how I feel about my M1 MacBook Air. I get why they keep making new stuff but… I'm good? Haha.
@justinjacobs also kind of where I am with my 14" MBP!
