Today I took my cat to the vet and she always hates it so much that we give her gabapentin to calm her down. Seems like today it didn’t work that well because the yells could be heard all over the office, you’d think she was being skinned alive but she was only getting a catheter put in to get urine samples.

Needless to say, we have another appointment in two weeks and she’s getting double dose.

Also the car smells like a litter box. #catsofmastodon

@joaquin_win Oh I feel for you! My girl has the tiniest of bladders and got another UTI every time the previous one cleared up. We visited the vet so often that she tried to skin me. I had to ask them to wear gloves with her because I was afraid that she would hurt them. She’s normally so sweet to me.
All that to say, she’s not allowed at the vet without gabapentin. She gets once dose the night before and one dose the day of. She’s on a special diet now, 7 months UTI free.

@raederle similar story, the mistake today was having the scheduled appointment at 2pm, the previous night’s dose had worn off too much by that time. We’ll be scheduling morning appointments from now on.
