So….Rabbit AI….

In pushing hardware, it’s another AI cash grab.

It could, easily, be a smartphone app. It doesn’t need to be a device. I don’t want more devices. If we’re going to look to add smarts to our life, let’s ensmarten our existing devices.

This could have been a really good idea…as an app. Instead, they chose to be a generator of e-waste.

Bear in mind the device, itself, does zero AI inference. The device, itself, is a connected device that acts as a communication intermediary and all of the intelligence is server-side. The device, itself, is literally a phone with WAY less capability than existing phones.

The device doesn’t do anything phones don’t already do.

It could, easily, be an app.

It’s worth noting that other companies already in this space are already looking to enhance their existing technologies with new capabilities and enhancements that companies like Rabbit are exploiting, but likely more first party. Apple is actually rumored to be enhancing Siri.

So by pushing a standalone device, Rabbit could, actually, be putting themselves at risk of being just a flash in the pan.

And…of course…generating e-waste.
