This is in line with the recent addition of 23G (XBB.1.5.70), 23H (HK.3), & 23I (BA.2.86) as @nextstrain clades - read more on that below 👇🏻

Attached: 1 image Based on their prevalence and rate of growth, we've designated 3 new Nextstrain clades from @PangoNetwork lineages: 23G (XBB.1.5.70) 23H (HK.3) 23I (BA.2.86) 1/9
On each page, you can read a bit about the variant, see its prevalence, mutations, protein structure & links to some publications about it. You can also see the frequency of non-defining mutations.
(23I shown as an example)

You can also link to the focal builds for each variant - phylogenies focused on each variant that allow a closer look at the diversity, geography, & mutations within that variant. 🗺️

On the Per Country page you can also see the 3 new variants clearly. In particular, adding 23I clarifies that 21L was not ‘back from the past’ - rather it was this one, notable and unique 21L descendant.

Of course, on the Shared Mutations page, you can see how these variants’ mutations compare to other notable variants.🧬🦠

And as usual, you can find the defining mutations (relative to Wuhan, but new mutations marked relative to their direct Nextstrain parent), including nuc->AA mapping, on the CoVariants Github.
A huge 🙏🏻 to @angieshinrichs who helped to check them!

As always, http://CoVariants.org is open-source & we welcome your PRs & suggestions to add more studies & information to variant pages! (Or any error-catching!) Thank you! 🙏🏻👏🏻
