I wish there was an API where apps could provide layers(or points of interest) to Apple Maps. Then in Apple Maps, the user could pick layers to show.

Imagine an app that provides road conditions and being able to see those overlayed with directions or a route in Maps.

Imagine being able to see friends on the map via Find My, contextually with driving/walking/transit directions.
