When I said I wasn’t posting to Risa anymore I didn’t elaborate. But since that time has gone by I’ve seen the same behavior only get worse with the same reports coming from a bunch of other people. The lead mod of Risa is a redditor through and through and refuses to let go of that behavior or atmosphere and I cannot stand by and watch it when it’s antithetical to everything that Star Trek stands for and that I believe in.
Had one of mine taken down recently for no ostensible reason beyond it’s character was not connected enough to Trek. It was hologram DaVinci, who shows up 3 times more than Kevin. It’s down to personal preference it seems.
Yeah exactly. I’m not cool with the mods just using it as their own personal community. The hypocrisy really pisses me off. You don’t get to say “No rules” and then implement rules that no one can even see that exist only in your head. It’s incredibly disingenuous and really shitty behavior.
I made a post a week-ish ago about the strange “rule” enforcement. You can see how that went. Had a conversation with the admin as well, where he was throwing insults as well. There’s a reason I’ve stopped posting now.
Didn’t realize it was bad at the admin level, too. Well, shit. This comm may not have the numbers, but with enough migration from the disgruntled, it ought to be a better home.
And this community I might shutter. /c/StarTrekMemes is an… odd name. It feels too on the nose and doesn’t feel like a community in the same way Risa did. I’m talking with the admins here about changing the name. If possible then all good. If not then I will be setting up a different community with a more permanent name and redirecting people over there. That is TOTALLY on me and a big mistake.
Well, it does bare the name of the shudders reddit sub I discovered shortly before I left that cesspool. What names are you shopping? Trek_posts, by_rikers_beard, 10-forward?
