After looking at all the Substack alternatives, I feel like the best move is just...build a WordPress site? They have a newsletter plugin that seems to do everything I need it to do. Tell me if I'm crazy.

@robmitchum I’ve been self-hosting with Wordpress for years. I’m a low output blogger these days but it’s a pretty easy platform, especially if you just build out at Wordpress.com.

Heck, there’s probably even a plugin to import your previous content.

@rowjimmy Yeah, I'm more scared of content migration than subscriber migration. But I've got a few months, so I could do it gradually (and give everything a polish along the way).
@robmitchum @rowjimmy This keep popping up in my feed. No experience with it, but seems like something to evaluate. https://mastodon.social/@buttondown/111619857799616010
@chopaganda @rowjimmy The thing with all of these substack clones is that, if they get big, I fear they will inevitably face the same issues. Sick of moving around.
@robmitchum @rowjimmy Makes sense. One super cool thing about Wordpress is they just recently added ActivityPub support. Will be nice to subscribe to Wordpress sites and see updates in my Mastodon feed.
