@aWildThorp The data come from the Hildebrand Glow gateway ( https://shop.glowmarkt.com/products/display-and-cad-combined-for-smart-meter-customers ) which is compatible with any SMETS2 smart meter, which is the kind that is pretty much the standard installation anywhere in the UK in at least the last 5 years. The company will pre-associate the unit with the customer's electricity account before shipping. The Hildebrand acts as a Zigbee to MQTT over TCP/IP over wifi. That feed provides approximately one data point per several seconds. From there I pull the MQTT feed into Prometheus.
