Casio MTP-130L - Lemmy.World

What does everyone think about this watch? I quite like the look of it. And seems like a nice and cheap piece to add to the collection. https://www.chrono24.com/casio/casio-casio-general-mtp-1370l-1avdf-p-black-leather-men-watch--id30039588.htm [https://www.chrono24.com/casio/casio-casio-general-mtp-1370l-1avdf-p-black-leather-men-watch--id30039588.htm]

I like the design for the most part, but it looks like there are some serious alignment issues on the dial, most notably at 12, 5, 6, and 7. I don’t really understand how the alignment could be worse for those hours than others, since it should be uniform spacing between the markers, but hours like 3 and 9 look well aligned somehow.

Other than that, the day and date window placements are a bit prominent for me. With the day at 12, it feels like that draws more attention than the actual time does, but that’s not inherently negative, especially if it’s only for work or something. Also, a grain of salt for this, I find that dials look MUCH busier in photos than in real life, and some with lots of text (certain Seiko Prospex, for example) look very clean in person even though they have like 5 lines of text and a date window.

All to say, though, I very much like the dressy look done in a functional and tougher looking way, and think something of this general style is a great buy for a relatively versatile piece. If this one isn’t perfect or you can’t find a similar piece from Casio with better alignment, I’d check out Timex for similarly classic pieces that are tough and well-respected, and consider picking up a separate leather strap if you find a case you love that’s on a NATO strap or something.
