In the US, it’s called an elevator. In the UK, it’s a lift...

I guess we’re just all raised differently..

@Ten I thought we're all raised only one of two ways: Otis and not Otis
@Ten Both have their ups and downs. :)
@Ten
Now don't go getting carried away...

@Ten I don't trust elevators, they're always up to something

and half the time they act like they're above me

but I will admit they're usually on another level

@Ten you really uplifted me with this one, I feel elevated.

@Ten

The internet is not only the most massive confirmation bias generator, it is also the biggest Dad Joke generator.

@Ten Lift here too, cause we're British

@Ten

I was raised by #StarTrek, so I can't help but think of them as turbolifts. I also call my Kindle a PADD. I'm weird, but it works for me.

@Ten
And they (North Americans) also call lifts 'rides'.
Extraordinary.

@Ten
…braced by suspenders of common language
@Ten sinking to new levels here...
@Ten In Ireland it’s an ardaitheoir
@Ten
Named after the great inventor, Elle Vader.
@Ten While I appreciate the dad joke, I never really understood why it's called that, cause when it goes down, it's not lifting anything.
