It's the party, root to crown. In WI the false electors were WIGOP party leadership, including a member of the state Election Commission. The room the false electors met in was secured by Scott Fitzgerald, an elected US Representative, voted in in the same election he was saying was corrupt. The faked documents were carried to DC by Sen. Ron Johnson's aide.

When was the first presidential election involving a change of party, where the outgoing president attended the inauguration?

The peaceful transition of power seems to have been a hissy-fit for some time at the begining of America.
