Started learning Japanese a week ago using #Duolingo. Actually went really well. Thought it's just a hyped up product, but it's actually pretty good. Just missing more in-depth learning for the writing system and maybe a bit more getting into speaking instead of just listening and translating. But still feel like I learned quite a decent bunch for my first week. At least I can order food and describe people...just the basics, but I'll get there!

@bolo Duolingo didn't teach me well enough for this sentence 😭 In Romanji I might be able to understand tho. Feel like they teach you the Hiragana once and never again :/

@pukima I’ve been really impressed with #Duolingo. Our family has been doing it together for 2 years now to learn Spanish and we all now have some decent proficiency because of it. I’m thinking of trying the plan that has Ai for conversations but not sure if it’s worth it.

@andricheli AI? I have Duolingo Super, but it seems like no AI features were ever advertised. Could be unavailable in Germany maybe...still odd.

@pukima yep, it’s Duolingo Max. It’s available in the US, but I’m not sure where else.
