The ios photos widget has some photos from my first solo cross country, back in October 2019. Such good memories. Did it in a sportcruiser, which I still think is much more fun to fly than a Cessna. If I weren’t building, a sportcruiser would be very high on my list, or, rather something like it but much more performant.

Enjoy some photos from one of my favorite flights ever!

Flight was KSMO -> KSBA -> KVNY -> KSMO. Good times.

@inktomi we moved up to Oregon for my wife’s PhD. Much easier to afford a space to build here, which was nice.

We miss LA, though. It’s on the short list of places to live in once plane is flying and her PhD is done.

@younata I remember my first cross country solo as one of the best days of my life. July 2010. KBFI-KFHR-KBFI. What an amazing sense of accomplishment, right?
