I discovered today that my cat's RFID chip provides the temp. I thought it was pretty cool. He is running a bit cold :/ He has been sick for a bit, but at the vet, his temp is always good, most likely from the vet stress. And we won't let me stick a probe in his butt, so this is a great option to monitor him.

@moshtodon Not really with the Flipper since it's a hand held device and needs to be right on top of the chip. I'm sure you could get a standard RFID reader that supports ISO 11784/11785, FDX-B and ID64 RFIDs. Mount it by the water/food dish and automate it from there.
FlipperZero is like a SwissArmy knife device but for hackers and is very ad-hoc not really designed for long-term single-purpose things.

Señor Linus is getting old, though; Turns 17 Tomorrow. (quick origin story) We got him 11 years ago. Not sure if you saw his clipped ear, he started off as a wild cat. Then abandoned when owners moved, found cold and wet on their curb future. Then the person who rescued the cat put him on some 'Holistic' diet. The fur was all thin and strange. but after adoption, we got him nice in fluffy in no time. The first 4 years I think he spent most of his time in the closets hanging out. Then one day he came out and was like sup, and we have all been best friends ever since.
