On 25th December, a child was born who would change the world forever.

Happy birthday Isaac Newton.

@dgar And they already had fog machines to make light rays visible!
@ScriptFanix I get that this is a joke, but there were fog machines then, yes.
@ahltorp
Wow, didn't know that, now I want to know everything about them!

@ScriptFanix It’s not that complicated, burn damp wood or straw or something, the difficult thing is avoiding suffocation, but that’s a problem with current methods as well.

Lots of theatre effects are really old, we just have more modern ways to generate them now.

@ahltorp
Mmmm carbon monoxide 😋😅
I prefer PEG 😉
@ScriptFanix You don’t even have to go as far as carbon monoxide to have a hazard, carbon dioxide or nitrogen is perfectly able to displace oxygen and commonly used to generate smoke.
@ahltorp
Yes, definitely. Some datacenter fire suppression systems that use nitrogen + 5% oxygen and 12% CO2 (so a human passes out but does not die). I've always found them terrifying, but they're eco-friendly
