I wrote about the genocide in Palestine, and how tech has been silent and complicit.

I can't sleep

I can't sleep. I'm lying in bed every night, and images of Gaza are running through my head. Fathers holding their babies, dead, caked in dust. Bombs dropped on homes [1], on hospitals [2], on schools [3]. Tens of thousands of dead [4] in indiscriminate bombings [5]. Children crying, pulling

In it, I call out my investors who are whitewashing the genocide and promoting Israeli talking points while Israel bombs and murders innocent civilians.

@paulbiggar appreciate you speaking up. Also, I fear you’ll find out what I have — it’s even worse than it seems. You *won’t* have torched your career, because they were already dismissing your sincerely-held beliefs. But speaking your truth is its own reward, and I hope you find peace in it.
@paulbiggar like, I called out Andreessen publicly for endorsing colonialism, while sitting on a board with A16Z folks, and…nobody there cared. They see all of the rest of us as either trifles to be ignored or enemies to be destroyed, but they certainly don’t care what we say.
@anildash fascinating perspective. Yeah I think this explains a lot of lack of pushback. We're just monkeys to make them money, who really care what the monkeys are saying
@paulbiggar @anildash Seems that is how the richest of the rich live. After all, how many bodies did they have to climb over and up to so elevate themselves? At a minimum, willful ignorance must have been a powerful component (a.k.a. Ignoring and self-deluding when faced by the suffering they cause) in their ascent.
