The cynic in me (currently around 97%) wonders if this kind of unwarranted criticism of Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology is just another attack by science deniers.

Why? It does two things.
1. It casts doubt on our foremost climate organisation for no reason - they’d warned of flash flooding for ages.
2. It takes attention away from the unprecedented nature of this climate change driven emergency replacing it with a juicy controversy.
