On another site, some chud demanded that someone "define a woman" and she replied, "it's a person who covers their drink when they see you in a bar."

Just the perfect response.

@JoshuaHolland I’m gonna say no. That ain’t it. That quoted response is troubling as well. I get the intention but it’s not well thought out.
@severud @JoshuaHolland The fact that you needed to jump to the defence of a nameless transphobe you saw someone talking about online is telling...
@SallyStrange @ada @JoshuaHolland I’m neither a TERF nor a SWERF, FWIW. But I do think it’s problematic to continue to let “others” (such as the unnamed respondent) define gender instead of each individual for themselves.
@severud @SallyStrange @JoshuaHolland Ok, so explain something to me. There are two people in this story. One is an active transphobe trying to strictly define gender in an exclusionary and bigoted way. The other is a person using a witty quip to call out the bigot by using the bigots words against them.

If your issue here is with people defining other people's gender, why did you decide the person to take issue with was the person pushing back against the bigot?
@ada because they use vivaldi.net.
