There is a new "Dearrow" browser extension that crowd sources more literal titles and thumbnails. I thought I would give it a go on mine and some friend's channels.
@paige did not expect you to try out my extension :)
@ajayyy not only that, I bought the safari version!
I like the idea, I try to have a title/thumbnail that conveys the videos contents to the viewer so it actually helps crowdsource potentially more helpful titles.
I hope my thumbnails are better than the chosen screenshots thought, they have the utility of making it easier to spot my videos and I try to think of them like a movie poster.

@paige

We do have two major opinions about thumbnails it seems.

There's some people that still want to see the thumbnails that are designed by the creators for artistic or communicative purposes, even if slightly more eye catching, while eliminating the ones that are misleading or designs that are more forced due to designing for the algorithm.

Then there are the other side of people (like me) who are okay sacrificing missing out on some of these good thumbs for the more consistent feel (since seeing more saturated custom thumbs next to the more boring screenshots makes them really stand out)

Right now we don't have a good solution for the first group yet, but it's someone we've been thinking about how to solve, but haven't found a good solution yet, other than each person using the channel allowlist.
