The far-right/right wing government of Finland has launched a proposal whereby people that couldn't be sentenced to lifetime imprisonment because that sentencing isn't applicable to that act would still be imprisoned for the rest of their lives if they are somehow deemed "dangerous", that they might commit future crimes.

This proposal of course violates pretty much everything we know about how humans work and how society has worked for... thousands of years.
Punishing people for acts they MAY commit, but HAVE NOT committed, is just absurd and a violation of several international laws Finland has ratified. It is a behavior repugnant to humankind.

Also, if someone is deemed to be future "dangerous" to self or others, that is a matter for the psychiatric care and social services, with a goal of removing that danger, not just storing people until their demise for acts they haven't done.

This is what happens when "we Nazis" (https://todon.eu/@b9AcE/110790343865354651) are the government.

Attached: 1 image "We Nazis don't really like such Jew-things" and several severely racist statements e.g. equating population groups with monkeys and weeds, in text messages sent by the new Minister of Economic Affairs of Finland, Wille Rydman, who recently replaced the previous one after that one resigned due to severe racism and Nazi-events participation. The messages were sent in 2016 to a then girlfriend by the then Member of Parliament and member of the Constitutional Law Committee for the "National Coalition Party", which now is the leading party in the government coalition together with the "Finns Party" which Rydman now represents after switching party in 2023, the "Swedish People's Party" and the "Christian Democrats". The leader of the "Christian Democrats" party commented the messages that were seen and publicized by the major newspaper "Helsingin Sanomat" (HS) by stating that "I think that nobody should be called either Nazi or a black bag in Finnish society". Leader of the "Finns Party" commented that "I nether can nor want to take a stance on something like that. A politician is a public figure, but also has private circles". Rydman refuses to comment the messages per se and gives the reason in a statement on X that it would legitimize the publication, but also threatens to sue HS, again.
