@dharrison @spi @mwichary The pipeline is unstuck so we’re starting to move things out. It was like the book in its slipcase defied Newtonian principles. It turned into electricity when in motion…or something. The printers figured out how to dampen amplifying effects and counteract what is now VERY violent shipping.
@glennf @dharrison @mwichary a very challenging environment that wasn't simple to figure out. My wife was very impressed with the amount of packaging that was involved.
@spi @dharrison @mwichary We actually had three “candidates” at the end. We shipped the first ~400 or so with two of them but tested a simpler one that has the same results. The next big tranche is going out with them.
@glennf @dharrison @mwichary which one ended up winning? Was it one of the three variations I saw on the unboxing website?
@spi @dharrison @mwichary Yes—the styrofoam corners were a late, dark-horse entry. But we feel that immobilizing and cushioning the “core” (the volumes within the slipcase and the volume spines within its enclosing plastic bag) would be correctly balanced with the pressure from flexible (not rigid) foam corners.
