this chip seems to have been sanded down -- you can see the marks
one of the pins fell off so I carved away part of the encapsulation and soldered it back on
@tubetime I had to do that recently to a less-than-common IMS2600P-12 CMOS RAM chip. I don't know how it was working in the first place since its power pin was pretty much gone. Machine still doesn't work though.
@binarydinosaurs @tubetime if the chip is new enough to have ESD protection on its pins, it can end up effectively powered via the ESD diodes.
