Don't think there's any Gen Z people on here so think it's safe to ask without being reported to the police - what's a decent free program for burning CDs for Windows 10? And what's the file format for audio CDs again, is it WAV? I used to do this every day! My youth has slipped away and disintegrated to a fine dust!
Alright, what am I doing arseways? I'm not sure if it's the external drive I'm using or the program or the file type or... I tried one program and it said no burning device was detected and I need to install one, the program that DID say it successfully burned an audio CD burned the WAV files as .cda, and WMP says empty CDs are full... It was never this complicated when I was burning CDs on the school computer during career guidance classes 🙄
@Ciaraioch Have you finalized the disc? I seem to remember this was a thing.
@laukanhenkka I don't even know anymore, maybe I need to go back to recording tapes off the radio

@Ciaraioch Thats a far superior format anyway 😂

A weird problem you're having for sure.

@Ciaraioch I do radio for a living so I can do a recording of my show and send the tapes to you via mail.

The true experience 👌🏻

How to Burn Music to a CD (Windows 10/11) 2023

@Ciaraioch IIRC this is fine. Windows never shows audio cds as „.wav“, but as 1 KB .cda files. Do you have a chance to pop it in a CD player and try playing it? Do you need a real audio cd or would an .mp3 data cd work as well?
@tomlenger It does the Spin Of Death when I try to play it in a CD player unfortunately. That's helpful to know though, thank you!

@Ciaraioch It's been a while since I went at this kind of thing but I'm reasonably close to you if you want me to take a stab at it.

I can provide delivery if successful.
