With the latest SARS-CoV-2 variant Pirola, cases in Europe are the highest they've ever been.

If you've paused the habit of using FFP2 masks in public, at-home tests, or other preventative measures - now would be an excellent time to pick it back up.

We know that the virus is airborne. We know that well-fitting masks prevent transmission. That at-home tests are good at detecting infection. And the horrifying consequences of repeat infection. Please keep yourself and your loved ones safe.

@yosh This is the page with the Irish wastewater reports, weirdly at the lowest ebb in a couple of years. Attached: 2 images Anecdotally in the last 2 weeks a significant covid wave has begun in Ireland - I know of two recent parties each of which had 9 cases after. This may reflect the rise of the JN1 variant which may be more able to evade immunity against infection but thankfully hospital rise is modest, far far below the prevaccine era which would have had much fewer infections in the population that now.
