Texas has turned into a real shithole.
In 1993, I moved there thinking that it offered better opportunity. But that was under its education-embracing female Democrat governor Ann Richards.
Since then, I learned how much of Texas embraces willful ignorance.
It's based not just in hatred of facts, but hatred of pretty much anything that isn't football-loving beer-guzling church-supporting straight(-ish) white men.

Xeno Danger Evil@JaneGray i had friends who didn't vote because they were on a road trip. I implored them to figure out how to get mail in or absentee ballots. They just shrugged. Also had a friend vote for him "just to shake things up." I cannot believe I associate with some of these people
