Would #meta get in trouble with EU govts if #threads didn't provide evidence of working towards interoperability before being available there? Cause I believe that starts tomorrow and that's what this extremely basic "maybe you'll be able to see our posts soon" statement by #Zuck etc looks like to me. I'm one of those lefties who thinks corporations only act for profit and never otherwise in the public interest. Maybe I'm just too dumb to see how true federation makes business sense for them.
