If you ever use the expression "moderate Republican" relating to the U.S. House of Representatives, you should realize that you are dealing in misinformation.

EVERY Republican in the House voted -- despite zero evidence turned up after endless "investigations" by hyper-partisans -- to move the Biden impeachment "inquiry" forward.

@dangillmor Conservatives on Reddit telling on themselves:

"The punishment is not removal, the punishment is the process and Republicans need to drag Biden for all his crimes publicly, just like Democrats did on the made up charges for Trump." 🙄

@The_Tim @dangillmor How are Trump supporters still so stupid all this time later
@dangillmor Someone on #MSNBC (it might have been Marc Elias) said that the House #Republicans are all now either Proud MAGA or Scared MAGA. [edit to correct spelling error]
@dangillmor To be fair, some of them have moderate preferences, but are cowards.
@pawsplay that makes them extremists, by definition.
@pawsplay @dangillmor There are always cowards who prefer following fascists rather than having some backbone, that makes them just as complicit. "I was scared" has never been a justification for fascist behaviour, even less so when the price they'd have to pay is literally nothing.
@dangillmor there is no such thing as a Republican. The GOP is totally corrupt by MAGA.
@dangillmor Nowadays, "moderate Republican" is an oxymoron.
@dangillmor
The phrase now makes sense only in a historic context.
Also true of historically conservative Republicans. Currently they all support fascism. Not the same.

@dangillmor

My best friend at work is a "moderate republican" by his own admission.

He is sick to his stomach to consider a Trump return to power - in his words "I really hope that doesn't happen" but he says if confronted with Trump/Biden he will hew to his party despite his dislike of "he who must not be named".

How is party allegiance more important than moral imperative?

How can we, as not-crazy people, bring these intelligent conservative voices into our camp? We must embrace somehow.

@rouxdoo Then he's not a moderate Republican no matter what lies he tells himself.
@rouxdoo @dangillmor He's not intelligent, he's a liar who is telling himself that he's actually not a fascist despite supporting fascism when he's got the option not to.
