Wait, you mean the thing that was obviously mislabeled and obviously dangerous and that I've been cranky about for however many years now actually /is/ dangerous?

Who could have ever seen that coming.

(Me! It me!)

Context: Tesla news.

I. Fucking. Told. You. So.

@TechConnectify I wish we could all agree what the path forward looks like. Anyone can point and say “problem.” But assuming that in 15-20 years all cars will be self driving and statically safer than a human driver and where we are currently needs a path forward. There needs to be a set of guidelines to keep pushing the envelope forward. Unfortunately, it’s to be expected there’s going to be some hiccups and accidents along the way. How do we thread the needle of safety and progress?

@ryanpaaz @TechConnectify

Given the progression of "AI" thus far, assuming that all cars will be self-driving AND safer than a person in twenty years seems extremely unlikely.

I am unconvinced that any company can effectively deliver a self-driving car that's safer than people, and yes, I'm aware of how pathetic that is. But so far no company has delivered an "AI" tool that can consistently tell you literal facts about the world.

@mav @TechConnectify I’m excited about the future and how far ChatGPT and Midjouney have come in the past 18 months.
