@verge Beeper Mini’s iMessage fight with Apple is also about the right to use (and charge access for) another company’s service, without their permission and without paying them anything.

That fact seems to be left out of a lot of the narratives being tossed around.

If I set up my own ticket booth outside a local theme park and started selling ride tickets, I’m pretty sure the theme park owners wouldn’t be OK with it… no matter how close my tickets look to the original ones.
