Related to my post earlier today that showed decadal changes in ice thickness, this animation shows the corresponding transition from older (usually thicker) #Arctic sea ice to younger (usually thinner) ice in early December...

@ZLabe random question, England/UK looks....weird? just curious what type of map this is as I'd expect a top down to be non-distorted?

@pixelpusher220 This is a polar stereographic map with southern boundaries around 65°N latitude. The UK is not shown.

@ZLabe oh wow haha. I won't claim to look at the Eurasian arctic in detail, but I seriously don't remember seeing the Novaya Zemlya before doh!
