And there we go. Briley Witch Chronicles 2 has been released and we managed to get started. Players of part 1 will feel right at home. It obviously uses the same game engine, some music and graphics changed, but the great UI stayed mostly the same. So no great learning curve there. The story picks up right before some festivities in Maepole village.

And as before, we are the bread delivery girl! Our first mission is to bring a huge basket of bread to the Chandlers. Everyone is stocking up on food before the festivities.
There are a couple of small labeling and spelling errors, such as on some signposts, which point to the wrong places. But overall the game seems very stable. It runs off of a KungFu Flash Cart. You can probably also use an EasyFlash. No floppy version, same as in part 1.
First side-quest: This villager lost her golden bangle in the well.
The well was already a place in the first part, but not much to do there. But now we fight our first battle -- a couple of spiders. But we win, of course...
Second quest is picking some Thyme for Branwen. On our way we also find a mysterious… thing? I have no clue what it it.

On our way back we run into Melodie that stupid… well. She announces that our enemy Lord Grey is coming to the village.
The festival is growing nearer. A foreign trader arrives in Maepole village.

Next mission is to fetch water. We let Smokey also fetch some Salmon.
Lord Grey has arrived in Maepole. This doesn’t bode well …
We sneak up on Lord Grey to see what he’s up to. Sadly Balen sees us and Lord Grey threatens us. Rasequin appears and tells off Lord Grey.

The day is over and Alyssa comes to see us. She wants to look up the visiting folk on the market place with us.
We visit Rasequin‘s caravan and … he sells us a doormat!!!
We are back with Briley in Maepole. First order of the day: Installing that damn doormat!

We tell Clarissa about Rasequin and she suggests that we should invite him over for dinner so he can tell some stories. However for dinner she requires some Parsley, for which we go to Branwen.
Branwen has no parsley either. But she borrows us her horse so we can go to Chaeton to buy some parsley.
The trip to Chaeton and back is uneventful. I guess this is so that new players get introduced to the map interface. We of course already know this one from part one…
When we are back home. Clarissa tells us that Sebastian was looking for us. He tells us of a weird boulder in the forest. We borrow a heavy hammer from Calibor and Sebastian smashes the boulder (and hammer) to bits. An entrance is revealed and we enter our first dungeon in this game: the Forest Underground
We are back in Maepole in the forest dungeon. It is just a straightforward path, so probably again to show novice players how it works. However, we found a magic bow! That will be useful!

On our way back Sebastian asks us to join him on the cemetery, where his parents are buried. A very romantic love scene ensues, and in the sunset both Briley and Sebastian say they love each other. ❤️
Back from our date, the dinner is prepared and Rasequin and his theow Chloe arrive.
Raequin tells of interesting places, which Briley isn’t fond of…
After the guests leave, Roana tells us that she thinks that Chloe is a witch…

We are back in Maepole with Briley the witch. We are on a sidequest to ferch Ginseng for Clarissa. After a bridge breaks, we fight our way through a small dungeon and John Woodman helps us repair the bridge.
After this adventure we get the day off. Sebastian joins us to spend the day and Alyssa comes by to tell us she is visiting her parents.
After Alyssa left we go with Sebastian to see the festival. However Calibor crosses pur path and tells us that people are falling ill. There was a scene where a mysterious figure manipulated the windmill earlier…
Back in Maepole on the #commodore64 for #brileywitch part 2. Clarissa tells us she lost her old key at Riverside. So Sebastian, Briley and Smokey go to seek it out.
After some lesser and some tougher battles we finally locate the key in the local dungeon. I think we should return here to explore more. But right now we are pretty beat up.
Meanwhile the village is struck by a terrible illness. A poison that Briley can’t heal. She asks Ghroda and Branwen for help, but neither has any answers.
We check out the festival again but no one is there. On our way back a shadow watches us.
Even the Whiteheads are struck by the illness. Balen accuses us of black magic.
We get a call from the Barrow Grimoire. A new potion is revealed. However we need a rare herb called Deep Curse. Branwen tells us where to find it. Briley and Sebastian are now poisoned as well, losing a couple of life points every few steps. This makes us hurry!
Back in Maepole for another round of #brileywitch on the #commodore64
We arrive at Dark Riverbank and fight our way through bunches of monsters all the whole being poisoned and losing lifepoints every couple of seconds. This makes everything quite stressful. However in the end we find the herbs Branwen sent us to look for.
Meanwhile back in Maepole Chloe arrives at the Baxter home and steals one of Briley‘s grimoires. Roana meets her but believes the lies and gets trapped.
Briley and Sebastian make it back safely and Briley manages to brew the „Cure Poison“ potion. Each of them take a few drops and indeed it works and removes the bad spell.
Not far away Rasequin reveals his true nature. He meets up with the assassins that tried to kill Briley. He seems to be something else than he pretends to be.
But it’s too late. Rasequin already knows about Sebastian‘s and Briley‘s plan to cure the village from the poisoning. He orders his men to delay Briley so Chloe can gather all the Grimoires.
Chloe arrives at Branwen‘s home to steal her Grimoire. Branwen senses that Chloe is a witch. And a dark one at that.
Chloe explains that she killed her parents by accident when her power burst out uncontrollably. Rasequin groomed her after that to do her bidding. Branwen tries to sway her from the dark side, but to no avail.
