@fool Never tried it because it sounds like some Linux bullshit. If I switch it will be to Apple Keychain.

@jwz @fool Apple Keychain has silently become almost great. With support for TOTP, scanning for weak passwords, etc.

Needs manual adding as a shortcut to home screen, though.

@jwz @fool Must admit I have switched to KeepassXC on macOS and it doesn't just sound like some Linux bullshit but it does what I need. If it runs on the phone I haven't found that out but I haven't needed it either. And yes, the 1Password 7 iOS workflow (if it can be called "flow") is part of what drove me away from even wanting my passwords on the phone.
@jwz @fool If you’re using both iOS and macOS, you may also want to look ay StrongboxPro, which uses the PasswordSafe (Keepass) file format and has proper integration with the Apple Keychain infrastructure such that it doesn’t fight with Apple for autofilling. Excellent feature set, old school freemium pricing model: one-time lifetime upgrade to “pro” features. My favorite feature is SFTP sync, so you don’t need to use someone else’s computers for your vaults.
@jwz @fool Fair enough, but just for the record I think Bitwarden is foremost a Windows app, though the cross platform support seems good from what I have seen. Certainly it isn't some `pass` or `keepass` bare bones type thing.
@jwz @fool if you really wanna get into some Linux bullshit, you can host your own bitwarden in your own cloud by using “vaultwarden,” a compatible bitwarden server written in rust. I run mine on a $5 Debian VPS. Mac and iOS apps are functional, browser extensions are ok.
