@The_Living_Gale Listen, I am disabled and a sole earner and attempting to find housing and have multiple medical issues and family issues and all sorts of other crap going on. I fucking hate what's happening in Gaza but I cannot, for my own personal wellbeing, engage with what is happening. If you cannot understand that there are many other people in that same situation, then you are part of the problem. Telling "the people" they must step up or they are genocidists is abhorrent.
@The_Living_Gale How do you know what any single person is dealing with? How do you know they are not actively campaigning and writing letters right now and just not telling you about it? Why are you the arbiter of what is the right way to engage with an issue? Why is performatively making a statement in a way that you can perceive so important to you? Wow, I fucking hate what's happening in Gaza! Is that good enough for you? What would it take to meet your moral standards, and why should I?
@The_Living_Gale And which issue should I be speaking up about? Repatriation of Native remains? What's happening in Gaza? The rampant civil rights abuses against trans people across the US? The fact that same-sex marriage is still illegal in Japan? The way the entire globe has been complicit in sweeping the seriousness of Covid under the rug and causing the death and disability of millions? All of them? It's exhausting. Why is your personal pet issue the thing that must be addressed *right now*?
