Hmm, two hour delay on receiving AT&T phone messages today. Missed the call from the plumber (didn't ring here, either). #drat
@ai6yr ugh. sometimes, usually when i'm expecting a v important call and i set the phone down for two minutes and miss it.
i kinda long for the days when the phone just RANGGG really loudly whenever there was a call, and there was really no muting it...
..........
when i am dealing with some crisis involving phone calls, i practically keep my phone glued to me and i still manage to miss a few
@rustoleumlove I had the phone on and in my pocket, volume turned up all the way. I have no idea how I missed, it!! Anyway, hopefully they call back. Already ghosted by one plumber.

@ai6yr UGH! good luck to you for real. i try to be a real DIYer but dealt with plumbing problems above my pay grade after buying the chicago house.

i decided to go all out, and hire an expensive but reputable plumber. they did quick work that seemed good, then a major part fail after one year and not even a price break on fixing it!
then i went bargain basement and got a great deal, plus warranties on work and parts! lesson learned for me. pricey does not mean good.

@rustoleumlove I DIY everything, but plumbing is (and continues to be) the one area where I have very little experience and it always turns into a bigger job than it started with... and having a failure is very expensive (ie what's going on right now). Soldering pipe is not for the faint hearted...

@ai6yr it is not, but i've done it successfully!

i put in two sinks and a tub. but a toilet install.. the first time i did it, it wasn't perfect and when it comes to a toilet, you need perfect!
so the next time, i got someone in here to do it.

@rustoleumlove I've put in a lot of toilets, but they are definitely a challenge.
@ai6yr hey, sounds like you and me can team up on the bathroom DIY! LMAO
