Root cause: "…algorithmic amplification is problematic because, like an invasive species, it chokes out trustworthy processes that we have relied on for guiding valued societal practices and for selecting, elevating, and amplifying content.”..."they have nudged aside historically entrenched social processes for performing these tasks”
